Eco Connection's new name
Due to business growth and our market sector, the team at Eco Connection has made a strategic decision to change our business name to e2o Pty Ltd. The new name represents the phases of a projects life cycle that we service from "engineering to operations" hence the abbreviated e2o name. Over the next three months you will notice changes to our website, promotional material and internally in our systems. The name has also allowed us to unify our businesses both nationally and internationally, specifically in regard to our company name.

Eco Connection achieves QSE certification
Eco Connection is proud to announce that we have been awarded certification against the standards for ISO 9001:2008, AS 4801:2001 and ISO 14001:2004. Our Integrated Management System has been in operation for the past 6 months and the auditors were impressed with the 'best practice' approach we have taken in managing our Quality, Safety and Environmental business systems. Eco Connection is committed to continual improvement and adaptation of these systems as our business expands. This will provide our clients with a considerable advantage in ensuring the highest priority will be given to upholding the standards. Our certification number is AU1089-QC-SC-EC.

TLQ is on the move!
Eco Connection has finished commissioning the Temporary Living Quarters which will house our commissioning technicians on the Pluto riser platform. The Quarters cost $22 million to build. They can be seen in this photo being relocated to a barge which will take the facility offshore, where a crane will lift it onto the platform. The first of our technicians have started offshore however they have had to de-mobilise due to cyclone Laurence which is approximately 700km from the platform.

Eco Connection assists with Ningaloo Vision FPSO commissioning
Eco Connection has answered the call to provide 11th hour commissioning assistance to the Ningaloo Vision FPSO in Singapore. Eco Connection has sent experienced technicians to complete last minute commissioning activities prior to the FPSO sailing down to Western Australia, where it will begin a new life servicing an Apache Gas Field off the Western Australia coastline.

Certification of Integrated Management System imminent
Eco Connection has developed an Integrated Management System which will see it gain accreditation against the standards for ISO 9001:2008, AS 4801:2001 and ISO 14001:2004. This will provide clients with the confidence that our practices for managing Quality, Safety and Environmental business systems are compliant with the above mention standards, and that we are following these systems. Eco Connection has made it a priority to establish and implement these systems which will be continually maintained and improved as our business grows.

Eco Connection to be involved in Blacktip commissioning
Eco Connection has signed an agreement to provide commissioning specialist services to the Blacktip project in the Northern Territory. The Blacktip processing plant is located near Wadeye in the Northern Territory, and will provide energy security to the Northern Territory for the long term and will be a catalyst for the ongoing development of the region, supplying gas for its future industrial and economic growth.

Eco Connection wins Pluto Riser Platform Commissioning Contract
Eco Connection has been awarded the contract to supply commissioning technical services to Woodside for the offshore riser platform as part of the Pluto Gas Project. Woodside were impressed with our understanding of the technical requirements, our capability to supply the right calibre of personnel and our OH&S and IR track record and strategies. The project commenced immediately after award with the supply of personnel to develop commissioning work packs for both Mechanical and Instrument / Electrical disciplines and FAT testing in Aberdeen Scotland. Eco Connection will supply all test equipment and personnel, with commissioning of the accommodation facility to take place prior to offshore mobilisation in December. The award of this project is a significant milestone for Eco Connection and recognises our capability to complete large scale completions and commissioning packages of this nature. Eco Connection is looking forward to developing this relationship with Woodside and its other project partners.

Eco Connection heads back to Kalgoorlie
After taking part in the successful completion of the Furnace Rebuild in 2008, Eco Connection has been invited (as the preferred contractor) to return to Kalgoorlie Nickel Smelter for the 2009 shutdown. This year we will supply thirteen dual trade personnel to complete replacement and calibration of instrumentation in the Acid Plant, Oxy Plant and Mac Compressor. In 2008, BHP Billiton were very impressed with the quality of our technicians and praised our attitude towards safety and quality under arduous conditions.

Industrial Instrument is introduced
Eco Connection now has an Industrial Instrument in place. In June 2009, the Eco Connection Employee Collective Agreement was established, which will be valid until 2015. This agreement sets out arrangements to ensure all Eco Connection employees are appropriately valued and rewarded and ensures that industrial and employee relations remain a priority to our business.

Eco Connection joins AMMA
Eco Connection is now a member of the Australian Mines and Metals Association (AMMA). The Australian Mines and Metals Association (AMMA) is the pre-eminent representative and lobbying body for employers in mining, hydrocarbons and associated industries, and the only industry-dedicated provider of advice for companies in the management of their human capital. The Australian federal and state governments recognise AMMA as the ‘peak body’ in all legislative matters relating to the resources sector. Eco Connection is now part of the biggest network of employee relations professionals in the resources sector, and will stay informed on all significant developments that affect human resource and employee relations management in our industry.

Implementation of an Integrated Quality Management System
Eco Connection is adapting its current management systems, to an Integrated Quality Management System in line with AS/NZS 9001/14001/4801. We have engaged highly qualified industry experts to enable a streamlined flow of information through our business. This system will increase efficiency, reduce risks, costs, time and disruptions and allow us to deliver a superior service to our clients. The system will be implemented in all operational areas as of July 1 2009, and we are planning systems accreditation by December 1 2009.

Power Station clientele grows
Following on from a successful shutdown for Alstom, Eco Connection was asked to put in a submission for the shutdown works at Swanbank E Power Station. The competitive tender process resulted in Eco Connection providing the most attractive proposal for the provision of instrumentation services for the project. We will value add to the service by capturing calibration results electronically and uploading these results directly into CS Energy's calibration database. Eco Connection will not only supply skilled technicians, but also calibration equipment and supervision for the project.

A new place to call home!
Eco Connection has experienced excellent growth over its 20 months of operations, and due to this performance we have outgrown our existing premises on Richmond Road. As of 2nd March 2009, Eco Connection will be operating out of Lonsdale in a premises that is ten times the size of our existing office. This will provide greater flexibility and opportunity for further growth over the coming years, and give us the ability to increase our workshop capacity. The Victorian bushfire disaster
Eco Connection would like to express its sorrow with respect to the tragic fires that have recently occurred in Victoria. Given the circumstances Eco Connection has contributed $1000 to the Red Cross, in the hope that this will assist in rebuilding some of the lives of those affected.

Eco Connection helps secure SA's water supply
Eco Connection recently completed the Swan Reach Low Lift Pump Station, achieving the same great outcome as with the Mannum project, which we completed early in 2008. With the client requiring the station to be operational by 19 December 08, Eco Connection produced the goods, and the plant has been operational ever since. The Low Lift Pump Station ensures water feed to the existing main pump station which supplies South Australia’s Peninsulas with water.

Eco Connection adds Santos to its list of satisfied clients
Eco Connection recently supplied a Supervisor to look at punch list items and remedial actions necessary for EEHA compliance on Santos' Fairview CSG project. Given the quality of work performed, Eco Connection was then asked to supply a team of Hazardous Area Inspectors to complete inspections and correct any non-conformances. This work commenced in September 2008 and will wind up at the end of January 2009.

Heading abroad
Eco Connection Managing Director David de Lacy, will be heading out of the country this month after being invited to assist in a major commissioning project in the South East Asia Region. Whilst full details of the project cannot be released at this time, the instrument and electrical commissioning is set be to worth between $5 and $7 million. This represents a major milestone for Eco Connection as it provides real recognition of our capabilities in the industry.

Our next water project
Eco Connection have been awarded the design and construction of the Swan Reach Low Level Pump Station which follows on from the Mannum Low Level Pump Station, which we completed earlier this year. Eco Connection was selected to complete these works after the outstanding job that was done in Mannum. Our contract is to provide all instrumentation and electrical controls for the pump station consisting of 2 x 150 kW pumps controlled by WEG Variable Speed Drives. We will have built the switch room and MCC by November 30 and completed the entire installation by December 19.

We're "Generating" some interest!
Eco Connection has signed a contract with Leighton Contractors to facilitate pre-commissioning and hazardous area activities for the installation of a new GE Frame 9E Single cycle 180mW generator at the Quarantine Power Station. Leighton’s approached Eco Connection as the preferred supplier given our experience and ability to facilitate a total package solution for commissioning, inspections, calibrations and Quality Documentation for system handover. The project is currently expected to be completed in January.

Major shutdown in Kalgoorlie
Eco Connection has completed a major shutdown in Kalgoorlie and received accolades from both the client and third party stakeholders for the job performed. At short notice, Eco Connection gathered a crew of 16 personnel to facilitate a shortfall in experienced Instrumentation and Dual trade personnel. Eco Connection’s crew were chosen to stay for an extended period to complete post commissioning works, which is a fantastic indicator of the quality of the people on our team. This project completes a significant milestone for Eco Connection, being our first million dollar contract.

Pelican Point Power Station Shutdown
Eco Connection recently completed all instrumentation calibrations and service at the Pelican Point Power Station as part of planned routine inspections for Gas Turbine 11. Whilst on site Eco Connection also performed electrical isolations and temporary disconnection of I&E equipment to enable Alstom Power Service to remove the enclosure housing and Gas Turbine, as well as connecting temporary light and power to suit Alstoms requirements. International Power simultaneously engaged Eco Connection to perform calibration checks on both Heat Recovery Steam Generators, Gas Turbine 12 and Steam Turbine 18 during a short shutdown including all service works in the Steam Sample Hut. Eco Connection was chosen for these works because of our people and our ability to provide specialised calibration equipment that was able to upload results directly into International Power’s instrumentation asset database. This eliminated the need to produce hand-written calibration reports, thus improved productivity and most importantly, maintained integrity of calibration results. The shutdown was completed with zero environmental or safety incidents and achieved a 100% equipment start-up record. A job well done for all technicians involved in this project!

Shutdown at Darwin LNG Plant
Eco Connection has completed a shutdown at the Darwin LNG plant for ConocoPhillips and Monadelphous. The shutdown involved critical calibration testing on all six compressor turbines as part of their planned maintenance services. Working through Monadelphous, the prime maintenance contractor on site, Eco Connection was able to mobilise personnel and calibration equipment at very short notice to complete all required tasks ahead of schedule, with no Environmental or Safety incidents or near misses. EcoConnection was commended by ConocoPhillips on the services provided and has been asked to perform additional works to be completed on site.

Upgrade at Anstey Hill Water Treatment Plant
Eco Connection has been awarded the electrical design and construction of the instrument air compressors for United Water at the Anstey Hill Water Treatment Plant. The project involves the upgrade of the existing compressors, installation of air-dryers and instrument air receiver as well as replacing the associated controls and SCADA links.

Upgrade of SA Water Pumping Stations
Eco Connection has been awarded the design and construction of electrical, controls and SCADA systems in a project to upgrade the capacity of SA Water pumping stations at Mount Pleasant and Eden Valley. The contract will involve liaison with ETSA to increase consumer mains capacity, design and installation of the manual control panel and installation of a new SCADA panel. It will also involve upgrading the radio system that monitors tank levels and provides a link to Williamstown, for relay to Thebarton for remote control monitoring.

Broadspectrum Calibration Equipment Maintenance
Eco Connection has signed an agreement to manage and maintain all Broadspectrum calibration equipment based in South Australia. This gives our client peace of mind that relevant equipment will be in service when required, as well as confidence in the fact that the equipment has been calibrated by Eco Connection to NATA traceable standards.

Mannum Low Level Pump Station
We are delighted to have been awarded the Mannum Low Level Pump Station contract, which involves the design, procurement and manufacture of switchgear and control systems followed by installation and all site electrical works for the project. Design, manufacture and procurement have already commenced with installation works due to start in late November.
